7 HEADLINES THAT MAKE YOUR CASH REGISTER SING!
These headlines have been used by marketing experts like Ogilvie for decades. Why re-invent the wheel?
These really work, so use them to build your business!
In marketing, the Law of Specificity states that people are more likely to believe information if it is specific rather than general. Instead of saying "Save money on this new gadget" say "Save $15 on this new gadget until the 30 June". Be specific.
Another odd marketing phenomena is that people remember odd numbers more easily than even numbers, so use odd numbers in your headlines (remember Nescafe had 43 beans in every cup, Heinz had 57 varieties of soup, etc.)
1. 5 (or any other odd number) reasons why ……
Example: 5 reasons why you need a security alarm
Make sure you then list the five reasons under your headline.
2. Here's how…
Example: Here's how you can make a $2 million in 12 months
(Notice how the Law of Specificity adds credibility here.)
3. How to…
Example: How to win friends and influence people
4. Announcing…
Example: Announcing a new way to teach your children to read
5. FREE …
Example: FREE Interior Decorating book for new home buyers
6. Now… or At last!….
Example: At last! There's a simple, easy-to-follow book to help you apply for government jobs.
There really is - it's called the Selection Criteria Toolkit. Click here to find out more
7. WANTED….
Example: WANTED - Brides-to-Be who want great wedding photos
Put your target market (in this case Brides)into your headline to flag them instantly.
